The ongoing bioengineering works at the landslides in Rinchending check post and Gonpa area. A variety of local tree and shrubs capable of growing fast have been planted. These plants reinforce the hard stabilisation measures implemented simultaneously.
The ‘fish bone’ method of brush layering interspersed with grass slips is expected to control erosion, anchor soil and prevent erosion. All of these interventions are expected to reduce impacts to the local communities by recurrent slides in the area.
