Through the NAPA-II project funding, the UNDP in Bhutan procured eBee plus UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System) for the National Center for Hydrology and Meteorology. A five days workshop on senseFly’s eBee Plus UAS in collaboration with Mr. Philipp Thumser(UAS expert) was conducted from 20th to 24th Nov 2017. Flight class was held at Lawala pass in Phobjikha with prior approval from BCAA, BICMA, DoFPS and ATC, where 18 officials (4 female and 14 males) were trained in eBee plus operation, maintenance, flight planning and data processing. The participants were from College of Science and Technology, DoFPS and NCHM and after successful completion of the workshop, the participants were officially certified to operate UAS by the I AM HYDRO, Germany.
The imageries captured by eBee plus would help to generate ortho-mosaic and Digital Elevation Models, contour, 3D maps and collected aerial imageries at a ground resolution of 2-5cm per pixel for the research and development activities of the center.
