Youth Action for 4Rs

National Environment Commission celebrated Environment Day on 4th June, 2015 during which Her Majesty, The Gyaltsuen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck, Royal Patron of Environment launched “Youth Action on 4Rs” club for Schools.

The club is launched with the following objectives:

  1. to build a lasting and sustainable partnership in waste management with the schools;
  2. to establish a conducive environment for fostering environmentally friendly thinking in our youth; and
  3. to instill civic responsibility and good ethics in waste management in families and society by making our youth goodwill ambassadors in waste management

The partner schools are:

  • Dechencholing Higher Secondary School
  • Motithang Higher Secondary School
  • Yangchenphu Higher Secondary School
  • Loselling Middle Secondary School
  • Nima Higher Secondary School
  • Kelki Higher Secondary School
  • Dr. Tobgyel School
  • Lungtenphu Lower Secondary School
  • Zilukha Middle Secondary School
