The National Environment Commission Secretariat, International Environmental Technology Center (IETC) of the United Nations Environmental Program and WWF Bhutan organized 2 days awareness-raising event from 25th to 26th April, 2019 on mainstreaming gender in the waste sector as one of the components under the Waste and Climate Change Project.
On the first day, findings of the Gender and Waste Assessment report were presented to the all relevant stakeholders. Participants from the RGoB, NGOs and the private sector attended the work with active group discussions and feedbacks on the findings of the report at Namgay Heritage Hotel.
On the second day, women from the communities like the Royal Bodyguard and Clean Bhutan had opportunity for hands-on training on organic composting and basket weaving from plastic wastes. More than 50 participants attended the two days event.
