On the Invitation of the National Environment Commission, RGoB, Shri C.K Mishra, Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India visited Bhutan from 30th April to 3rd May 2019. During the visit, Shri C.K Mishra called on Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture and Forest.
The main objectives of the visit was to strengthen the collaboration and cooperation between Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India and National Environment Commission and relevant agencies of Bhutan.
Bilateral meeting was led by Shri C.K Mishra (along with Mr. Atul, UNEP and representative from Indian Embassy) and Dasho Sonam P. Wangdi, Hon’ble Secretary, Bhutan. Besides agreeing signing MoU between two agencies, the major area of discussion during this bilateral meeting was on waste, however, other areas in terms of technology, capacity building, research, etc. Shri C.K Mishra also visited waste sites and waste start up establishment.
