The Water Flagship Program assessment group is currently conducting its field assessment for the proposed drinking water activities in the Program for Wangdue Dzongkhag.
The assessment group consists of officials from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Works and Human settlements, Gross National Happiness Commission Secretariat and the National Environment Commission Secretariat. The assessment began with a consultation with the Dasho Dzongda, Dzongrab, Dzongkhag and gewog officials of Wangdue on March 5, 2019 during which the Flagship Program activities proposed in the Dzongkhag municipality and the rural areas were presented and discussed.
The assessment group in the following days will be conducting a screening of the proposed activities in consultation with the Dzongkhag and gewog officials in order to determine whether the activities proposed in the Program are necessary and feasible with accurate costing. The assessment group will be conducting site visits with the Dzongkhag and gewog officials for areas found necessary.
