The National Environment commission conducted midterm review workshop on “Building Institutional Capacity to Reduce Emission from Motor Vehicles in Bhutan” on 21 June 2017 in Thimphu. The workshop was attended by relevant government agencies, automobile workshops, vehicle dealers and vehicle emission testing agent. Vehicles contribute about 10% of the greenhouse gas emissions from Bhutan and is a major source of air pollution, especially in urban centers. The workshop discussed the draft roadmap for controlling vehicle emissions in the country.
The workshop was funded as technical assistance support from ADB to address Climate Change in South Asia
