SNC Launched by Her Royal Highness Ashi Euphelma Choden Wangchuck
Her Royal Highness Ashi Euphelma Choden Wangchuck launched the Second National Communication of Bhutan to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) on 14th November 2011, during the inauguration of Climate Summit for Living Himalayas at Nazhoen Pelri Hall, Thimphu.
The national report is one of the means to communicate the impacts of climate change in Bhutan to the international community. It provides a holistic assessment of our vulnerability to adverse impacts of climate change and the mitigation and adaptation interventions that are required to reduce our vulnerability and contains following information:
- National circumstances of the country
- Inventory of Greenhouse Gases for a given base year
- Actions taken to mitigate emission of greenhouse gases
- Actions needed or taken to adapt to the adverse impacts of climate change and
- Any other information that may be relevant (capacity building, awareness, technology needs)

This is for the general information to the public that washing and cleaning of clothes/vehicles and dumping of any kinds of wastes by the river banks or into any water bodies are prohibited under the Waste Prevention and Management Act of Bhutan 2009 and National Environment Protection Act of Bhutan 2007.
