Aum Tashi Pem, joins the Department of Environment Climate Change, Secretariat to the National Environment Commission, MoENR, as the new Director General on 11 February 2023.

Prior to joining Department of Environment and Climate Change, Secretarit to the NEC, Aum was heading the Secretariat for Royal Civil Service Commission as the Director General. She has more than 25 years of diverse experience serving in various capacities as Planning Officer in Ministry of Communication, Government Revenue Administration, Tax reform and Fiscal Policy in the Ministry of Finance. She served as Board Director in Bhutan Development Bank, Bank of Bhutan, State Trading Corporation of Bhutan, Druk Punjab National Bank and Member of Academic Planning and Resources Committee of Royal Unjversity of Bhutan.

She received her master degree in in Development Economics from Kagawa University, Japan.
