The Department of Environment and Climate Change (DECC), Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources hereby notifies all Ministries, Government Agencies, Competent Authorities, Project Proponents, relevant stakeholders and the general public that the Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) Forms for all applicable project categories have been comprehensively reviewed and revised to improve the environmental assessment process.
The revision of the IEE Forms has been undertaken to enhance the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of environmental assessment documentation, streamline project screening and review processes, strengthen compliance with the Environmental Assessment (EA) Act 2000 and its relevant regulations, and ensure that environmental considerations are more adequately integrated into project planning and implementation.

During this trial period, the Department will closely monitor the implementation of the revised forms and solicit feedback to further improve their usability and effectiveness before their formal adoption.
Accordingly, all are hereby required to use only the revised IEE Forms for the preparation and submission of IEE reports for all new applications received on or after July 20, 2026. The previously prescribed IEE Forms shall stand replaced by the revised versions and shall no longer be accepted for any new environmental clearance applications submitted from the effective date of this notification.
