Stakeholder Consultation meeting on BE Water Resource Engineering curriculum
Published on: 12-Jul-2022

The Water Resources Coordination Division (WRCD), National Environment Commission Secretariat (NECS) is conducting the stakeholder consultation meeting for validation of the Bachelor's of Engineering in Water Resources Engineering programme from July 11-12, 2022 in Thimphu. Water as a strategic resource is imperative for the sustenance of numerous sectors and has to be safeguarded through integrated planning and management, coupled with technical expertise and skills. To allow for such expertise in the country as well as to enable job opportunities in the international market, the NECS with the support from the Royal University of Bhutan (RUB), specifically the College of Science and Technology has developed the water engineering curriculum. This was initially based on the desk study of the existing programmes and its modules under the environmental and water related programmes offered in RUB, following which additional modules and units to address emerging needs of the country as well as the international market were incorporated.
